Building the workforce of tomorrow: Envalior’s Total Talent Journey

In today’s rapidly evolving labour market, organisations can no longer afford to think in silos when it comes to talent. The line between permanent and contingent work is fading fast – and for global innovators like Envalior, that shift is not a challenge but an opportunity.

As Mark Ryan, Head of Talent Acquisition at Envalior, explains: “We stopped treating contingent labour as a transactional service and started treating it as part of our talent ecosystem.”

This philosophy sits at the heart of Total Talent Acquisition (TTA) – a unified strategy that brings together all forms of work and workers under one cohesive approach. Mark will share Envalior’s insights on this transformation as a keynote speaker at the upcoming Total Workforce Summit on 27 November 2025 in Brussels, hosted by NextConomy.

From concept to capability: what Total Talent Acquisation (TTA) looks like in practice

For Envalior, TTA is not just a vision statement. It’s a disciplined, data-driven framework that integrates permanent and contingent workforce strategies across the organisation. By centralising processes and systems – from its Workable ATS for permanent hiring to the 3SS Vendor Management System for contingent labour – Envalior has built a scalable foundation for agility and compliance.

The company’s partnership with Hays MSP plays a key role in ensuring visibility and control. Real-time dashboards now track spend, performance, and compliance across multiple geographies. “We didn’t just implement a system”, says Mark. “We built a strategy that makes contingent labour visible, compliant, and valuable.”

This transformation didn’t happen overnight. Envalior began by mapping inefficiencies in its legacy recruitment setup, consolidating systems, and creating new roles – such as a Contingent Labour Operations Lead – to bridge operational gaps. The company also launched SharePoint hubs and stakeholder workshops to build internal alignment. As Mark puts it: “Total Talent is a journey. Start with clarity, build with courage, and lead with purpose.”

Technology, data, and collaboration as enablers

Central to Envalior’s TTA success is cross-functional collaboration. HR, Procurement, IT, and Finance now operate as one ecosystem, sharing data and decisions through a single source of truth. “We measure what matters – and we act on it”, Mark emphasises.

This approach doesn’t just enhance efficiency; it drives business agility, ethical labour practices, and ESG alignment. Envalior’s roadmap includes expanding AI-driven sourcing tools, launching global dashboards, and further integrating contingent-to-permanent career pathways.

Looking ahead: toward a future-ready workforce

As Envalior continues its TTA evolution, Ryan and his team are focusing on bridging the gap between flexibility and stability – ensuring the company can access the right skills at the right time, anywhere in the world. The next steps include rolling out their contingent labour program to India and China, introducing AI-powered hiring manager tools, and strengthening global compliance through their “Golden Rules” framework.

“We’re building a future-ready talent model that delivers both business value and credibility,” Mark concludes.
